Solutions · AOR
Contractors engaged without the classification risk.
We contract, manage and pay your independent contractors in 100+ countries, compliantly.
What is an Agent of Record?
An Agent of Record (AOR) is a third party that formally engages independent contractors on a company’s behalf. The AOR verifies each contractor’s classification, executes compliant agreements, collects tax documentation and processes payments, shielding the business from misclassification penalties. Where a full Contractor of Record (COR) arrangement is needed, LanceSoft assumes the contractual relationship end to end.
Misclassification exposure grows quietly. The contractor who has worked full-time on your tools and your hours for two years is probably not a contractor in the eyes of local law, and regulators worldwide are enforcing harder every year. Penalties reach back in time: retroactive taxes, unpaid statutory benefits, fines and litigation.
The honest answer is rarely “never use contractors.” It is to classify correctly, document properly, pay compliantly and keep watching as rules change. That is what an AOR does, and because LanceSoft runs AOR and EOR under one roof, the workers who should be employees can convert cleanly instead of becoming a problem.

Quick answers
What is contractor misclassification?
Treating a worker as a contractor when local law sees an employee. Penalties include back taxes, benefits, and fines. AOR removes that risk upfront.
Who pays the contractor?
LanceSoft invoices you once and pays each contractor, handling currency, documentation and local payment rules.
Can a contractor become a full-time employee?
Yes. Because we run AOR and EOR under one roof, conversion is a managed transition, not a new vendor search.
What are the penalties for misclassification?
Depending on the country: back payroll taxes, retroactive statutory benefits, fines, interest and employment claims. The cost is almost always higher than engaging the person correctly from the start.
What is the difference between AOR and COR?
Under AOR you keep the commercial relationship while LanceSoft handles classification, contracts and payments. Under COR, LanceSoft holds the entire contractual relationship, adding a further layer of separation.
How much does AOR cost?
LanceSoft AOR pricing starts at $99 per contractor per month, varying by geography, with zero hidden fees and one consolidated invoice.
